Theme: Walking - Bodies in Urban Space

The Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID), in partnership with Creative City Centre, is seeking visual artists to create high-impact installation work in underused downtown spaces. This successful public art installation series, Pop Up Downtown, is approaching its fourth year with the thematic focus of: 

Walking - Bodies in Urban Space:  The meditative, and physiological impacts of the act of walking; the relationship between walking and thinking within an urban space; references to body within the language of architecture and the urban landscape; the subversive potential of bodies in public spaces; the social hierarchy of the urban landscape.

Successful candidates will create an engaging satellite artwork to be installed for a duration of up to three months. Locations will include; unused storefronts, hidden and under-used spaces in the downtown core. Successful candidates will also receive artist fees of $426 plus a materials budget of up to $750.
