Title: Info on the Go Team Member

 

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager of Visitor Services, the Info on the Go team members act as goodwill ambassadors and are considered the “welcome wagon” of downtown by responding to residents and visitors. On a daily basis team members will respond to inquiries for directions, answer questions on transportation, hotels, dining, and shopping as well as setup, activate and takedown all Summer in the Square programming and assist at a variety of downtown events. The Info on the Go Team will also provide support to the Clean Team by helping pick up and remove garbage downtown.  The Info on the Go team position is seasonal from July to the end of August. Hours of work will vary between 20-30 hours a week, with a variety of 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Info on the Go Team

Respond to inquiries from all individuals in a polite and knowledgeable manner. 

  1. Aid in documentation, reporting and removal of light graffiti within the RDBID boundaries as directed by the Manager of Operations.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with Downtown members to enhance and promote the services provided by the Info on the Go Team;
  3. Set up and takedown of all Summer in the Square programs and events;
  4. Assist the activation of the pedestrian count.
  5. Support RDBID staff at summer events.
  6. Assist with key partner organizations in preparation for events held in the Downtown.  
  7. Assist with the Clean Team with litter clean up and maintenance in City Square prior to and after Regina Downtown signature events.
  8. Conduct ongoing inspections of public areas in Downtown to identify risks or threats to public health and safety.  Report these to the Manager of Visitor Services.
  9. Aware/alert to potential threats to the safety and security of the public, businesses and public property. 
  10. Distribution of relevant material/information to business members when requested;
  11. Attend meetings as required; and 
  12. Maintain related files.

Preferred Qualifications:

The job is best suited for those interested who are actively pursuing education in the areas of Hospitality, Tourism, Education, Human Justice, Social Sciences or Communications.

  • Must be able to adapt quickly to changes;
  • Must be able to follow directions;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Must possess strong team work, problem solving and communication skills;
  • Customer service experience;
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 40lbs and being on their feet for up to 6 hours at a time;
  • Able to work under pressure;
  • Knowledge of downtown Regina considered an asset; and
  • Experience in event/program activation considered an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast paced environment;
  • Tight deadlines;
  • Constant communication with the public including tourists, downtown members and the vulnerable population; 
  • Working outdoors at least 85% of the time in a variety of weather conditions such as wind, heat, and light rain;
  • Physical labour for up to 7 hours a day;
  • Standing for up to 6 hours at a time on hard surfaces such as cement, brick and pavement; and
  • Evening and weekend work required during special events.

TITLE: MANAGER OF MEMBER ENGAGEMENT

Position Hire Date: August 3, 2021 

Wage: Commensurate with experience

Position Summary 

The Manager of Member Engagement is responsible for administering and/or coordinating membership engagement initiatives undertaken by RDBID as well as projecting a professional and positive image of RDBID at all times.  Event management and production may be required.  The position of Manager of Member Engagement is a permanent, full time position.

The Manager of Member Engagement reports directly to the Executive Director.  In the absence of the Executive Director, the Manager of Member Engagement reports to the Board Chair.

The Manager of Member Engagement may be responsible for managing seasonal employees, when funding allows.

Responsibilities:

Member Engagement and Services

    • Produce RDBID member engagement initiatives, including but not limited to:
      • Regina Restaurant Week
      • Taste of Downtown
      • Gift Card Rebate Program
      • Holiday/Event Member Promotions
      • Parking Promotions
    • Develop and distribute new member welcome packages
    • Provide support and coordination for visiting conferences and events
    • Build RDBID relationship and visibility with members through in person visits
    • Host membership industry meetings
    • Assist with annual/bi-annual membership surveys
    • Manage and maintain the RDBID membership and parking databases
    • Manage and maintain membership listing on the RDBID website

  • Administration
  • Provide member engagement portfolio updates for RDBID Board of Directors and Committees, as needed
  • Develop and manage annual portfolio budget 
  • Solicit additional funding for portfolio projects/initiatives, where possible
  • Develop and manage annual portfolio work plan, identify and establish criteria for assessing the success of the member engagement portfolio and assessing its implementation, both in terms of the success factors identified, including budget
  • Collaborate with other team members to promote the membership engagement portfolio, where appropriate
  • Research and implement best practices for the portfolio, where appropriate
  • Represent RDBID on external committees, where appropriate
  • Attend internal and external meetings and events
  • Filing and documentation for portfolio

  • Preferred Qualifications:The position is best suited for those with a background in business, marketing or client relationships.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook;
    • Experience multitasking and prioritizing assignments;
    • Experience in a leadership role considered an asset;
    • Must be able to adapt quickly to changes;
    • Must be able to organize and coordinate work efficiently, to set priorities and to motivate others;
    • Must possess strong team work, problem solving and communication skills;
    • Must have excellent time management skills;
    • Customer service experience;
    • Broad knowledge of office skills/procedures; and
    • Knowledge of downtown Regina considered an asset.

    Working Conditions:

    • Working independent with minimal supervision;
    • Sitting for up to 6 hours a day;
    • Communication with the public including tourists, downtown members and the vulnerable population; 
    • Standing and walking (occasionally); 
    • Working outdoors (occasionally); 
    • Event setup (occasionally); and 
    • Evening and weekend work may be required.
