When you walk through the doors of Factory Optical, you are pleasantly greeted by both Management and staff who are fully trained to guide you through the various options of designer frames, best suited for your needs; including contacts and both prescription/ nonprescription sunglasses – perfect for your next tropical vacation!

Growing up, Founder Noel Wendt didn’t have the usual interests in ‘traditional’ school sports. Dating back to the early 80s, Noel found his passion in skateboarding. “It’s always had a positive impact on my life.”

During such time, there was a lack of accessibility to functional skateboarding fashion. With his passion for the industry and skills in sewing, Noel started to design his own clothing for both himself and other skateboarders!

In 1993, Noel started working for Cornelia Biegler who at the time, owned World of Trout. Eventually they grew as business partners and brought the sport of skateboarding to the forefront of local Regina residents. “I wanted to be able to help others and share that sense of belonging to someone, who may not have interests in ‘traditional’ sports!” As the skateboarding industry grew, Tiki Room was established in 1996. Dedicated to all things skateboarding, Tiki Room offers boards (including assembly and repair) education, clothing and shoes. Your one stop, skateboarding shop! In addition to the retail store, Tiki Room is very active within the local Regina skateboarding community. Over the years Tiki Room has sponsored local skateboarders, facilitated skateboarding contests, provided pro skateboarding demonstrations, and advocated for local skate parks, some of which include the former indoor park in the Heritage building, the Rochdale skateboard park and the plaza park in Wascana.

Noel and Cornelia’s partnership continued to grow over the years and in 2011 created/opened a new store on 11th Ave called Norwood.

For that person who loves ‘all things skateboarding’, shop Tiki Room!

Finding alternative clothing with an edge that was beyond the mainstream, was nowhere to be found in Saskatchewan. In 2005, Susan Redekop had a vision to create a space that allowed people to express their own individuality and nonconformity using fashion. “We are a little weird and beyond mainstream, but also fun, elegant, and provocative – in a good way!”

Madame Yes provides quality alternative fashions for men and women of any age, including clothing, outerwear, footwear, jewellery, accessories, hair colour and home decor. Prices are usually well below the cost of similar items in larger city centres.

The passion for individuality continues to be the forefront of the business, as they continue to push the limits with brands exclusive to Regina and even the province of Saskatchewan.

“Friendly and approachable customer service is critical when it comes to our business!” Both management and staff are always available to guide the customer shopping experience, to ensure they find the right items to express their own unique individuality and find a look they love.

Express your own individuality through fashion and add a little “edge” to your wardrobe at Madame Yes!

In 2011 partners Noel Wendt and Cornelia Biegler opened Norwood. Their passion to create a store that offered non-trendy “classics” was at the forefront of their vision for the new store.

Norwood’s concept of classics not only represents the clothing and footwear offered for both men and women, but also the design of the space. A woodsy outdoor, vintage, antique vibe with custom local photography is the perfect backdrop to set the mood, as you shop.

“Think quality and longevity!” when it comes to your wardrobe. Complimentary layering pieces, ranging from daily casual wear to outerwear. Items that you want in your closet for a long time.

Some classic brands you may recognize include Patagonia,Red Wing Heritage, Reigning Champ, Levi’s and Vans. Many brands offered are North American made and/or are part of social and environmental movements. Sitting beside such brands is Cornelia’s own locally made ladies clothing line called CUB. All pieces in the line are made using vintage fabrics and manufactured personally by Cornelia in her studio above Norwood.

When you want quality, longevity and “classics” – think Norwood!
