The Courts at the Skuare?

The Courts at The Skuare is the first phase of an interim activation at Cornwall Street and 12th Avenue. Since this project was first announced, the site has grown, opening the door to a bigger vision than originally planned. The Courts at The Skuare is how RDBID is activating the site now — giving the public a free space to enjoy this summer and a chance to weigh in on what comes next, while the larger, permanent plan continues to take shape. 

This phase of interim activation at The Skuare offers a range of free, drop-in activities — classic sports like bocce and cornhole, giant games like chess and Kerplunk — alongside casual seating, open to the public throughout the season. It is designed to be an inviting, low-barrier space for residents, workers, and visitors alike.

The Courts at The Skuare draws people into the core, and once they’re closer to the businesses around them, supports the kind of foot traffic and investment downtown Regina needs to keep building momentum — laying the groundwork for future opportunities, like space for local entrepreneurs and small businesses to test new concepts as the site evolves.
