The Regina Downtown Business Improvement District (RDBID) is an organization that provides a range of business and community services to promote and enhance Downtown’s unique assets, to improve conditions for businesses operating in the district, and to improve the quality of life for those who shop, work, live and play Downtown. Regina Downtown’s services supplement services provided by the City of Regina. RDBID was originally established as Regina’s Market Square in 1981. In 2002 the name of the organization was changed to Regina Downtown Business Improvement District.
Authorized under Section 25 & 26 of The Cities Act and City of Regina Bylaw No 2001–76, Regina Downtown programs and services are financed by a special assessment collected from commercial property owners located in the defined boundaries of the downtown district. This Downtown district encompasses a 40-block area that extends between Angus Street, Victoria Avenue, Osler Street to Saskatchewan Drive.
Our staff, led by the RDBID Board of Directors, work hard to help our members get the most out of being located in the heart of the city. Regina Downtown is the information source for all things “Downtown”. We hope to build upon the great foundation that we already have to make our Downtown community the strongest and most vibrant in the city.
Regina Downtown will support the creation of a complete and sustainable Downtown neighbourhood, where entrepreneurship and cultural vitality flourish, and a diverse community of people thrive in an active, safe, accessible, inclusive, and beautiful public realm.
